When our parents relocated to East Windsor in 1965, our mother, Jackie Bodin, was a young stay-at-home mom with a degree in education, a compassionate heart, and unbridled creativity. Not knowing anyone in the community, our parents joined Beth El and the synagogue became the cornerstone of our lives.

Throughout her life, Jackie supported Beth El and its congregation by teaching Hebrew School, starting and teaching Hebrew High School, serving on the Board in numerous positions, running the Senior’s program, leading the Sisterhood, and facilitating many events to commemorate Yom HaShoah, support the arts, and engage the community of all ages in experiencing the joy of Judaism.

Outside of Beth El, Jackie worked tirelessly in support of JF&CS, Better Beginnings Day Care, and Hadassah. Her passion for music, beginning with classical piano and progressing to heavy metal, played an ever present supporting role to her life. Jackie was the picture of a life well lived. She gave selflessly of her time, talents, and resources to making the world a better place. The love she had for her family and friends was endless and she inspired the people in her world to give back as well. She is sorely missed by many.
